Our Commitment to Community
At First State Bank, we believe that strong banks and strong communities go hand in hand. When our community thrives, we thrive—and we’re proud to play an active role in making that happen.
We’re more than just bankers; we’re neighbors, volunteers, and champions of the people and places that make our hometowns special. That’s why we’re committed to giving back through partnerships, donations, and hands-on involvement with organizations that matter.
Our team is proud to support and serve local groups including: Main Street Russellville; United Way; L.V. Williamson Boys & Girls Club; Arkansas Tech University, Junior Auxiliary; Russellville Area Chamber of Commerce; our Local Schools & Youth Programs; and many more!
At First State Bank, Community Matters isn’t just something we say—it’s something we live every day.
CASH MOB: Supporting Local Businesses Together
At FSB, we believe in the power of community and the importance of supporting our local businesses. That’s why each quarter, we host a CASH MOB—an exciting event where every FSB employee receives $25 to spend at a selected local business on a designated day. We invite the entire community to join us in showing support by shopping at the featured business, creating an immediate boost and positive impact for our neighbors. Together, we can make a difference, one small business at a time.
FOUL BALL SPONSOR
FSB is proud to be the Foul Ball Sponsor for the Lady Razorbacks! Thanks to our sponsorship, fans get to take home a fun souvenir—any foul ball they catch during the game is theirs to keep. It’s just one more way we’re supporting our community and helping create memorable moments for local families and sports fans.
Teaching Children to Save!
At FSB, we believe it’s never too early to start Teaching Children to Save and to understand the value of money. Our employees visit local elementary schools to read “A Penny’s Worth”, a delightful story about a little penny on a big journey to discover her purpose and true worth. Through humor, money puns, and a fun lesson on U.S. currency, students learn that every coin counts and that self-worth—just like saving—is truly priceless.
Volunteering at Local School Sporting Events
At FSB, community involvement is at the heart of everything we do. One of the ways we love to give back is by volunteering to work the concession stands at local school sporting events. It’s a simple but impactful way to support our schools, our students, and the many families who gather to cheer on their favorite teams.
By giving our time, we help schools raise valuable funds for athletics, clubs, and other student activities, all while having fun and building connections with the community. Whether it’s serving snacks, sharing smiles, or just being part of the excitement, we’re proud to play a role in creating memorable moments for students and families alike.
Supporting Community Centers
FSB is honored to support the Yvonne Richardson Community Center (YRCC) and its incredible mission of shaping today’s youth for tomorrow’s challenges. Since its founding in 1996, YRCC has served as a vital hub in the community, offering recreational, educational, and social opportunities for young people. We are proud to contribute to a place dedicated to accessibility, growth, and making a lasting impact in the lives of local youth.
Camp Stormy
RIS 5th Grade Camp Stormy, a program we’ve stood behind since its very beginning. Each year, we help ensure every student is prepared for this memorable experience by providing backpacks for camp and making a monetary donation to help cover costs. Camp Stormy gives students the chance to explore nature, build friendships, and create lasting memories—and we’re honored to play a small part in making it all possible. Supporting our youth and investing in experiences that help them grow is just one more way FSB is committed to our community.
Hispanic Heritage Festival
Hispanic Heritage Festival, a vibrant celebration of culture, community, and tradition. Employee's connect with attendees, share in the festivities, and show our appreciation for the rich diversity that strengthens our community.
Supporting Local Food Banks
Access to regular meals can be essential for children, especially during the summer months and school breaks when they may not have access to school-provided meals. These food banks help fill that gap by providing nourishment to kids who need it most, and we want to support their efforts in any way we can to help ensure no child goes hungry.
